Hong Kong is rapidly shifting to a knowledge-based economy. There is an increasing need to upgrade the knowledge of the professional workforce, particularly on subjects which are related to modern technological advances in the fields of information technology and integrated circuits (IC).

IC technology has been the principal driver of the electronics industry in the past thirty years. The advancement of integrated electronics from the microscale to the nanoscale is critical to the advancement of information technology for another thirty years to come.

The Master of Science (MSc) Program in Integrated Circuits is designed for professionals with a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science who are interested in acquiring in-depth knowledge in microelectronic engineering, or upgrade their knowledge in the subjects of Integrated Circuits.

On successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:

  1. Identify, formulate, analyze, design and test integrated circuits and systems for various applications;
  2. Develop and conduct experiments and analyze and interpret the resultant data;
  3. Use appropriate simulation tools to help develop integrated circuits and systems with good understanding of their limitations and optimization;
  4. Simulate and apply basic integrated circuits and systems subject to practical constraints; and
  5. Communicate effectively the holistic development of integrated circuits supply chain via oral presentations and written reports.
