The Master of Science (MSc) Program in Global Operations aims to provide a distinctive postgraduate education program to qualified students who have already completed a recognized bachelor degree and are interested in managing business operations on a global scale.
The program is designed to equip students with tools and understanding essential in the management of service operations, manufacturing operations, and supply chains. Students can choose to be in Operations Analytics concentration when taking electives based on their background and career interests.
Graduates of the program are expected to disseminate their learning and understanding of global operations to industries in Hong Kong and the Greater China region, and enhance the economic development in the region and the global market to improve the competitiveness of the multinational companies.
On successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
- Identify critical issues in the global economy and core business functions of a global organization and relate them to the management of global operations;
- Analyze problems in the design, creation and delivery of goods and services in a global environment by using qualitative and quantitative tools and apply innovative solutions;
- Lead a team and work effectively in a team with people from different background; and
- Identify ethical dilemmas in business decision making and apply an ethics framework to propose and defend a resolution.

A list of electives offered in a particular year will be announced at the beginning of each intake. The elective courses are a selection of courses with a global operations profile chosen from the portfolio of the School of Business and Management.
Subject to the approval of the Academic Director, students are allowed to take up to 4 additional credits of electives (on top of the graduation requirement of 30 credits) within the program’s elective portfolio and the electives offered by other MSc programs in the School of Business and Management available in each intake.

Operations Analytics Concentration
To graduate with the Operations Analytics Concentration designation, students are required to complete at least four courses (8 credits) from the list of electives related to Operations Analytics.
Students can graduate with no concentration or one concentration. The duration of the program is one year with or without concentration.

To qualify for admission, applicants must meet all of the following requirements. Admission is selective and meeting these minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

Applicants seeking admission to a master's degree program should have obtained a bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution, or an approved equivalent qualification.
Applicants have to fulfill English Language requirements with one of the following proficiency attainments:

TOEFL-Revised paper-delivered test: 60 (total scores for Reading, Listening and Writing sections)

Applicants are not required to present TOEFL or IELTS score if

they obtained the bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from an institution where the medium of instruction was English.
