TPG Programs Coordinator (Environment and Sustainability):
Prof Arthur P S LAU, Associate Professor of Interdisciplinary Education
The Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) and Master of Science (MSc) Programs in Environmental Science and Management prepare graduates to tackle the rapidly developing environmental issues in Hong Kong and the surrounding region. The multidisciplinary programs offer a unique opportunity to combine advanced environmental science and management courses with engineering electives to help broaden capabilities. They strengthen knowledge in important environmental concepts and enhance the ability to apply these concepts to local, regional and global environmental problems.
The PGD Program provides flexibility for students who are unable to commit the time and financial resources required by the MSc Program.
On successful completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
- Explain and provide possible solutions to local and global environmental problems with their social and economic contexts using advanced scientific and management knowledge and concepts;
- Evaluate environmental impacts with scientific and evidence-based approaches;
- Analyze contemporary and emerging environmental issues from different disciplinary and stakeholder perspectives;
- Appropriately communicate an environmental agenda to different stakeholders; and
- Develop strategies and solutions to promote sustainability in government, business or educational sectors.
