- EABU 3000Eurasian Leadership Development1 Credit(s)DescriptionThe course aims to enhance students' personal development, teamwork, communication skills, career readiness, leadership abilities, and global perspectives. It consists of three components: (1) Workshops and seminars that help students adapt to university and SBM life, offer academic advice, and provide a foundation for well-being. These sessions may also include training on professional interview skills and internship practices. (2) Mingle and munch events that create opportunities for students to build interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills. (3) Industry sharing and company tours that foster interaction with the business community, provide exposure to global business, and help with career preparation. For EABU students only. - EABU 3040Business and ESG Management for Eurasia and Emerging Markets3 Credit(s)Exclusion(s)GBUS 3040DescriptionThis course aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the contextual factors in Eurasia and emerging market countries, focusing on the risks, challenges, and solutions for doing business in these regions. Students will study the key economic, financial, political, social, and cultural traits of these countries, learn about regional differences and explore how these variations influence business strategies and managerial decisions. Topics related to corruption, corporate governance, and ESG will also be addressed. For EABU students or students with consent from instructor.Intended Learning Outcomes

- EABU 3050Deal Making in Eurasia and Emerging Markets3 Credit(s)Exclusion(s)GBUS 3050DescriptionThis course introduces students to cross-border and cross-cultural business transactions in Eurasia and emerging markets. By analyzing case studies of various real business deals, the course offers a comprehensive overview of doing business in these regions. Students will have the opportunity to strategize as corporate decision makers through discussions, role plays, and presentations. The goal is to enhance students' skills in deal structuring, financing, negotiating, and closing from a strategic management perspective. - 1.Demonstrate an understanding of the techniques used to effectively structure, negotiate, and close deals in the real world.
- 2.Demonstrate an understanding of the different country and cultural contexts in Eurasia and selected emerging markets.
- 3.Compare, contrast, and differentiate between different types of deals and the contexts in which they take place.
- 4.Critically analyse a new situation to identify which techniques and contextual factors are the most critical.
- 5.Design and implement strategies for structure, negotiate, and close deals in a variety of Eurasia and Emerging Market contexts.
- 6.Demonstrate an understanding of the ethical challenges of conducting deals in Asia and Emerging Markets.
