Undergraduate courses marked with [BLD] or [SPO] may be offered in the mode of blended learning or self-paced online delivery respectively, subject to different offerings. Students should check the delivery mode of the class section before registration.
- LEGL 1000Legal Education (Basic Law, National Security Law and Safeguarding National Security Ordinance)0 Credit(s)Mode of Delivery[SPO] Self-paced online deliveryDescriptionA compulsory legal education course for all undergraduates to learn about the PRC Constitution, Basic Law, National Security Law, Safeguarding National Security Ordinance, and Legal System of HKSAR. Students will gain an understanding on these topics and their relevance to the society. The course is a self-paced online course and will cover the topics in 3 modules. Students will be required to complete and pass an assessment for each module to obtain a "Pass" grade for the course. Graded P or F.Intended Learning Outcomes
On successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
- 1.Have broad understanding of the basic information about Hong Kong’s legal system by introducing the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China, the Basic Law of Hong Kong SAR
- 2.Understand the different levels of court and the role of the National People’s Congress
- 3.Get the background information of the Hong Kong’s National Security Law
- 4.Define and comprehend the rules and boundaries in public events and introduce the public order offences in Hong Kong
