Highlights of this course are 1) train up students’ job interview, leadership evaluation interview, CV writing and networking skills and offer personalized feedback, 2) through small group engagement, business leaders will foster students’ understanding about the challenges and requirements of different jobs in different industries, and 3) the experiential nature of this course allows students to dive deep into the 1.5-day intense workshop with challenges resembling real-life situations. This course is a prerequisite for UPOP 2920 Undergraduate Practice Opportunities, the two-credit common core internship course. Instructor's approval is required for enrollment in the course. For Year 2 or above students. Graded P or F.

Students will gain valuable exposure from these areas 1) apply important soft skills into practice – in this case it relates to job exploration and effective workplace skills, 2) initiating their job search journeys from scratch and eventually landing on internship jobs, 3) receive feedback from peers, supervisors and faculties, submit internship reports to reflect on their takeaways, and participate in an end-of-term conference for experience sharing, and 4) continue with the self-discovery and development journeys with boosted confidence and new learnings. The internship offers valuable exposure to students to learn from real work environments and better prepare them for their future career trajectory expeditions. Instructor's approval is required for enrollment in the course. For Year 2 or above students. Graded P or F.
